US President Barack Obama has appealed to American people to press Republicans to compromise on the country's deepening debt deal.
In a televised speech, he warned that any default in this connection would risk a deep economic crisis.
His statement came amid a growing impasse between the Republicans and the democrats over the US debt crisis.
President Obama blamed the stalemate on Republicans' refusal to raise the 14.3 trillion dollar debt ceiling.
